There were two rival stores across the main street from each other in a small town in the U.S.One day one of the stores put up asign:’

The Cheapest Store in This Street’.
‘The Cheapest Store in This Town’, countered the other.
‘… in This Part of the Country’.
‘… in This State’.
‘… in the USA’.
‘… in the Western Hemisphere’.
‘… in the World’.
‘… in the Universe’.
After a short pause the first store owner simply replaced his sign:
‘The Cheapest Store in This Street’.
